Hey there! TIME TO PARTY!!!

Wanna know why? Because I just got my shiney new laptop! It has a nifty webcam and everything! But that's not all! I got the Adobe CS4 Design Premium - Student Edition, of course. With that comes Photoshop (Extended), Illustrator, Flash, InDesign, Dreamweaver, and Fireworks. Sara is a very happy girl now. Now I can do most of my schoolwork from home and not have to drive the 45 minutes to campus every single day. And hopefully actually have time to do some art just for me. I have several commissions to work on, but schoolwork keeps dragging on and on...SIGH! Hopefully this will make things a little easier.

On another note, I went to the doctor the other day and was, not surprisingly, diagnosed with depression. Possibly manic depression. I have an appointment with a different psychiatric doctor soon to do some more detailed tests and get my medication. Yay for detrimental chemical hormone imbalances! The best part of all this is that my new psychiatrist's name is Dr. Peacock. I tried really hard not to laugh when the doctor told me that, but I think my mouth twitched a little. Also, when they were doing bloodwork the nurse managed to completely miss my vein and had to dig around in my arm to find it again, only to pop the stupid vein the second she stabs it again. So now I have huge sores and a still-growing multicolored bruise on my arm. AND I got two shots that day. I'm STILL sore from all that.

But hey, that's life. I'm feeling a slightly more healthy balance of good and bad right now. I've still got the extremely dangerous mood swings, but I have medication on the way, some shiney new toys to distract me, and-OH! I also have a job interview tomorrow! It'll be good to have some money coming in.

Now to see if all that software is installed. I've been sitting here waiting for it for over an hour. Silly Adobe, you better be worth it.

So, sort-of exciting news. *ahem*

Okay, so apparently my art is being whored out again. This past Wednesday at church, Denise (youth pastor) comes up to me and offers me an interesting sounding opportunity. Did I mention she also works at the public library? Apparently, they are having a teen summer reading program starting next summer to get adolesants away from monitors with colorful moving pictures. And what's the best way they figure to do this? Anime. They want me to teach a How-To-Draw-Anime seminar to my fellow teenagers. How this will get them to read more, I don't know. But, the best part, besides whoring out my mad arting skillz and hopefully get a dozen or more hits to my dA page? I'll get anywhere from $100 to $150 for this 30 minute class.

Sounds pretty perfect, right? Just one issue. The whole social awkwardness/borderline social phobia disease thing kinda prohibits any situation in which I am the center of attention, especially talking about something people insist I'm good at (some call it modesty, I call it inabilitytoacceptacomplimentitis, which Kyle can attest to). But hey. It's not till NEXT summer. I have almost a year to prepare myself mentally.

As for physical preparations, I'm gonna be honing my MAD ANIME SKILLZ. And just when I was beginning to get AWAY from anime/manga style...UGH. I know, right? But yeah. I may even take some stuff from my gallery here and have at the class as samples. In which case, I might ask you good people to vote when it gets closer to time on the ones I should display. w00t! I'll be famous. Or something. GO ME. *halfassed confetti*

On another note, I downloaded that new Flipnote Studio thing from the DSi Store yesterday and HOLY FLYING SHIT. That is so addicting. I keep going on Hatena and stalking people's animations. I've tried a few out myself, but I suck majorly. I'VE BEEN PRACTICING LIP FLAPS. Only, I've had this disturbing cold for FOREVER so my voice sounds all stupid.

YAY! Spring semester's finally over! And I somehow managed to squeeze by with all A's. Which is crazy, considering I missed over half the pop quizzes in speech and didn't even go to my 3D graphics class at all the last month and a half.

Here's where I'd like to say I have a ton more time to draw and write and be creative and stuff, but alas. I have a couple of summer courses I'm taking (though they're both online, thank God) plus I'm doubling the search for a job. I desperately need monies so I can move out. T-T I are tired of living at home, and me and Kyle are planning on getting an apartment or tiny house somewhere close. STOOPID ECONOMY.

Le sigh. At least I can save about 20 dollars a week since I won't be going back and forth to Hanceville every day. I really hate driving.

Oh, and PS: I'M SICK OF RAIN. It's been raining for two months straight and I'm just about to get pissed at it. If one more tornado comes through here, I'm propositioning the state legislature to rename the town Tornado Alley.
